If you’re a fan of the HBO series Game of Thrones, then you are really excited about the series finale. Who will sit on the Iron Throne, who will die, who will live happily ever after, if that’s possible? You’re probably also considering throwing a finale party or going to one, so you’ll probably need some snack ideas. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are some ideas from a recent Game of Thrones party that I threw a few weeks ago.
Food
Food is always something that will make or break your party, so getting it right is usually important. For this Game of Thrones party, I tried to make some popular classics with some funny twists.
Cheeseboards are such a huge hit at our parties that I make sure to have one ready every single time. I know cheeseboards can be intimidating so I put together a guide on how to set up a cheeseboard.
If you really want to wow your guests or take your party to the next level make a cake that bleeds. I found a Game of Thrones cake pan and baked a ginger chocolate cake. I then cut the cake into two layers and added red cream cheese frosting, strawberries, raspberries, and strawberry syrup.
When you cut into the cake you’ll see a nice reference to the Red Wedding…poor Stark family.
You’ll also want to include some hot meals. The last Game of Thrones party we hosted, I made Shake ‘n’ Bake calamari inspired by the Iron Islands. It was super easy and quick to bake. Just calamari, shake n bake, and sea salt. Just serve it with some marinara sauce and you’re good.
Next on the menu, some Unsullied missing parts…
These are mini hogs wrapped in bacon and drizzles with honey. Then baked for 30 minutes. It’s so good and a hit every single time.
How about some hot little chicken fingers…see what I did there.
Another easy dish to make quickly. Just a bag of hot Doritos, eggs, and chicken breast. These spicy fingers went pretty quickly, just make sure to have enough milk for everyone’s burning mouths.
Decor
Once you have your food planned out, start thinking about decorations. I found these house banners on Amazon for pretty cheap. So I put them up behind the food table.
In keeping with the rustic medieval-ish theme, I brought out my wooden serving platters that I bought from Chapters years ago. I love those serving platters, they work for some many events and through the seasons. I would highly recommend. Add some horns, wine, and steins and prepare yourselves for one epic party or watching party…
Now go off and enjoy the finale…
