Is it just me, or do cranberries just taste so much better this time of year? Or maybe I just love the bright red colour. On a side note, I think I may be in the closet about my love of the colour red. I’ve always thought my favourite colour was blue, but I’m finding myself decorating with reds so maybe my favourite colour is changing. Anyways, as I was searching my freezer for dinner ideas, the bright red of a forgotten bag of frozen cranberries caught my eye. My mind started to think of all the wonderful goodies I could make so that this bag wouldn’t go to waste. Then I thought about the very ripe bananas sitting on my counter and BOOM bread idea!Read More
Wendy’s Nursery Tour: A Nursery for a Rainbow Baby
Okay, I know it’s been a while and I probably should have shared this like a year ago, well before Wendy was born, but it’s really been a busy year and I’m forgetful…So better late than never and here goes. When we first found out we were pregnant with Wendy, we knew we wanted a nursery that reflected the little rainbow she is. Picking the main colour was actually the hardest part of the whole process but after many an argument, Chris and I settled on mint green, a colour that could grow with her and become a background colour for her imagination. Why we, as parents, need to understand the importance of Remembrance Day
Growing up, I can tell you that the only thing I remember about Remembrance Day is pretty much sitting in a large gymnasium with a bunch of my elementary school friends who were told to be quiet as our Principle spoke and then being told to stay quiet during the eleventh hour. I wasn’t raised in a military family, I had never heard stories of war unless they were in school books, and we never attended cenotaphs, the sacrifices were stories to me. Never once, as a child did I truly understand Remembrance Day. I simply thought it was a day to remember anyone who had died.Read More
Brace Yourself, The Gift Guides are Coming!!
I can’t believe it’s already November 1st. Geez, Louise did this year ever fly by. Guys, there’s only two more months left in 2017, crazy. And it’s also gift-giving season. The Holidays are my absolute favourite time of the year. Snow falling, cool weather, Santa visits, and of course, gift giving. Let it be said, I enjoy giving gifts more than receiving. I mean, it’s really nice to receive gifts, and I’m definitely grateful all of it, I just enjoy watching people eyes light up when I give them something that they wouldn’t get for themselves or something that they absolutely wanted or needed so much more. There is such joy in it, which is why I always donate toys to toy drives, food to food drives, surprise people with gifts from “Santa”, etc. It truly makes me happy to make others happy. BUT I also know that sometimes it’s not easy to figure out that perfect gift for that special somebody. Trust me, it’s taken me years to figure out the perfect gift for some people in my life, but now, I don’t want to brag but I’ve nailed gift giving.Read More

Bullet Journal Page Ideas
So if you’ve followed me on Instagram you’ve probably noticed that I keep an Erin Condren planner and while I do enjoy using it, it just stopped working for me. At least in some ways, I even tried switching to an Erin Condren hourly life planner but that didn’t really help me. I can’t just carry my life planner around with me, it’s too heavy for my purse. I know, you’re probably saying ‘why not use your phone’, Chris asks me that all the time, I’m just not a phone calendar person. I silence all my alarms and don’t pay attention to my phone during the day. So I started researching what was working for other people in the planner community and came across bullet journaling. This isn’t the answer to not only my planner problem but my multiple-half-started-notebook problem. What can I say, I love writing stuff down. Read More
