Description
A classic Canadian dessert with a bacon twist.
Ingredients
Scale
Crust:
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of cocoa
- 3/4 cup of butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup coconut, shredded
- 2 tbsp maple bacon season
- 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped (optional)
Icing layer:
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 2 tbsp pudding mix, vanilla
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp milk, 2%
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate layer:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Maple Bacon Seasoning
Instructions
For Crust:
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Line a square pan with parchment paper and put aside.
- Combine all the crust ingredients in a bowl.
- Press crust mix into the square pan. Bake for 8 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven, cool completely. Then place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes
Icing Layer
- Combine all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix.
- If you find that the icing mixture is too thick, add 1/2 tbsp of milk
- Remove your crust from the fridge, spread the icing layer over top of the crust. More sure to spread it evenly and all the way to the edges.
- Place the pan back in the fridge to chill for 30-60 minutes
Chocolate Layer:
- Bring an inch or two of water in a pot to a boil, and place a heatproof bowl on top of the pot.
- Melt the butter, maple bacon seasoning, and chocolate chips together.
- Stir until completely melted
- Pour over the icing in the pan, and place it back in the fridge to set (approximately 30 to 60 minutes).
