There is nothing more satisfying than making your own almond butter and saving yourself a few extra dollars, am I right? Plus it’s so easy and the only ingredient you need are the almonds. That’s it! You don’t need to add sugar, or oil, or anything else unless you want to of course. It makes a healthy snack and if you’re doing any Whole 30 or Paleo diet, it’s a total win.
You will also need a good quality food processor. You’ll be processing the nuts for over 15 minutes so you do need to make sure that your processor will be able to handle that.
Okay, now it’s time to start that butter. Take 2 cups of roasted whole almonds and put them in your food processor. Now blend on low setting for 20 minutes. I stopped my processor a few times to scrape down the sides of the bowl. At around the 10 to 15 minute mark, you should start to notice a change in the almond grounds as they group together. At 20 minutes you’ll see that glorious almond butter. Keep processing a little bit more until it reached the consistency that you want. Once it reaches the right consistency for you, I like mine just like the photo above, transfer to an airtight container, like a mason jar and keep in the fridge. It will stay fresh for approximately 3 weeks, but mine never lasts that long, we love eating it all up.
