The season of pumpkin spice lattes, scarfs, and changing leafs is coming!! It’s my most favourite season ever and if you’re like me you count the days until you’re back to sweaters, and other fall trend clothing. My absolute favourite spot to shop for fall is Modcloth. I have been a wholehearted supporter of the ModCloth fashion piece for years. I love the retro, yet updated, feel of their dresses, not to mention they have some pretty rocking accessories. When Chris and I got married 2 years ago, I made a ton of purchases on ModCloth. My favourite purchase was actually the yellow duck umbrella purchase I made. Read More

Caesar Summer Series: Summer in the City Caesar
Happy Sunday Friends!
It’s that time of the week again, to share another tasty caesar that you absolutely need to try. This time, Chris took to the kitchen and created the ULTIMATE Summer Caesar or as he called it ‘The Summer in the City Caesar.’ It includes a whole lotta food on it. I’m thinking he just couldn’t decided what he wanted to eat for dinner so he made a little bit of everything and topped her caesar with it. Pretty simple, yet brilliantly impressive. So here’s what you’ll need to have this dinner/drink:
- A Tall Glass
- 4 squirts of Lime juice
- 5 squirts of Lemon juice
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 2 shots of vodka
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
For the Garnish:
- 2 skewer sticks
- half a mini pizza
- 1 mini slider
- 2 onion rings
- 1 pickled egg
- 1 dill pickle
- 2 baked chicken wings
- 1 slice of bacon
- 1 cherry tomato
How To:
- Pour some rimmer into a small bowl *make sure your glass rim fits in the bowl first* and then pour lemon juice in another bowl. Now put the rim of your glass in the lemon juice and then the caesar rimmer. This will allow the caesar rimmer to stick to the rim of your glass
- Now mix the rest of the ingredients together in your glass, adding the Clamato juice last.
For the Garnish:
- Follow the cooking instructions on all those magnificent foods. Then stick them on your skewers and put them in your caesar glass
- Now enjoy your dinner/drink!

Caesar Series: The Beer Caesar
Hello Friends! I hope the summer is treating you all very kindly. It has been bloody hot on this side of the border….this may be the longest summer I ever experience…at least I have air conditioning, thank goodness. Anyways, today I want to share a drink that Chris highly enjoyed during our trip to Punta Cana.
During most of our travels, we have found it’s actually rare to find a location outside of Canada that serves caesars. Most places serve Bloody Marys but to be honest that’s not the same, at all. Chris and I are complete caesar fans, forget the tomato juice, pass us the Clamato juice and we are absolutely happy. So when Chris approached the swim-up bar at the resort we stayed in Punta Cana and saw a drink with Clamato in it, he knew he had to try it. I don’t remember what they called it but I know it satisfied Chris’ caesar craving. Every bartender there made it differently but the two main ingredients never changed beer and Clamato. So when we got home, it was time to give it a try, with a twist.
I made a trip to the local LCBO, which being in my 2nd trimester I received a lot of dirty and judgemental looks…even though I haven’t touched alcohol since before I was pregnant…anyways, I headed towards the craft beers and decided on the Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask Beer. I’ve had this beer before I was pregnant, and I actually enjoyed it. It goes down pretty smoothly and has some great flavour. You can really taste the whiskey. Chris and I highly recommend.
So if you would like to create this Beery Caesar at home, here’s what you’ll need:
- A Tall Glass
- 4 squirts of Lime juice
- 5 squirts of Lemon juice
- 10 squirts of Worcestershire sauce
- Caesar Rimmer
- 3 squirts of Tabasco
- 1/2 to 1 bottle of Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask Beer
- enough Clamato Juice to fill the rest of the glass
- celery stalk for garnish
- Add the celery stalk and mix
- ENJOY!

Strawberry Cake Pudding to Celebrate Canada Day
Hello friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful Canada Day! I know Chris and I are. We have a day full of car washing, dessert eating, and park walking planned…yes I lead a very exciting life indeed. Although, as of right now it’s raining and kind of damp outside. Whatever, I still maintain it’s a great day!
So to celebrate the birth date of the great nation we live in, I decided to create a cake pudding dessert. So my house smells pretty amazing right now.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 boxed white cake
3 drops of Red Velvet Emulsion or Red Food Colouring
2 cups of blueberries
2 1/2 cups of sliced strawberries
4 pudding mixes (i used 2 vanilla and 2 banana, you’ll also need milk for the pudding)
1 can of whipped cream
Directions:
- Mix the boxed cake as according to the instructions o the box. Now take 1/2 cup of the cake batter and place it in a separate bowl. Add the Red Velvet Emulsion to the separated cake batter and mix it together.
- Pour the white cake batter into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Now marble in the red cake batter. I used a knife to create the marble look.
- Bake the cake according to the box.
- When the cake is baked, remove from oven and let cool.
- Once cooled, remove from the pan and cut into cubes. The cake will be on the softer side. I’ll let you in on a little trick, if you put the cake in the freezer for 15-20 minutes it’ll make it easier to get cleaner cuts.
- Mix the puddings in separate bowls. Place them in the fridge for 15 – 20 minutes, or until set
- Now use your best paring knife and slice the strawberries.
- Time for assembly! Banana pudding on the bottom, then add a layer of blueberries, then a layer of strawberries, add a few cubes of cake and then add a layer of vanilla pudding.
- Keep doing that until you fill your dessert bowl.
- Now add a layer of whipped cream and top with a beautiful maple leaf made of strawberries….or just layer strawberries on top
- Enjoy
This didn’t take me long to make at all and it’s been a BIG hit with my family! I hope you enjoy your Canada Day!
